In a demonstration of skill and class, Tayfun Tasdemir has won the 2022 UMB 3-cushion world title. In Donghae City, South-Korea, he defeated Ruben Legazpi in a one-sided final: 50-14 in 15/14 innings. For Turkiye, it had been a nineteen-year wait since Semih Sayginer was world champion in 2003.
Pedro Piedrabuena defeated long-time rival and former champion Miguel Torres to win his 11th USBA 3-Cushion National Championship title.
His play throughout the event was nearly perfect and included an incredible come-from-behind victory against Kang Lee in the penultimate Semi-final round.

Banished from the USBA nationals for the last two years because of a UMB suspension for agreeing to play in the PBA, Pedro Piedrabuena from San Diego took out his revenge on the field of US championship aspirants two months after his suspension was lifted. When the chalk dust had settled, he had secured his 10th national championship trophy.
The 56-year-old Dutchman Dick Jaspers is again the best billiard player in the world on two fronts. At the 73rd World three cushion Championship in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, started with 48 players, Jaspers captured his fifth world title by winning the final against 47-year old Turk Murat Naci Coklu: 50-47 in 32/31 innings.
The Mister Magic of the billiard world is finally a winner again. Turkish star player Semih Sayginer (58) won his first World Cup in Sharm El Sheikh after his last one in 2004 in Byron, Greece. Then, Sayginer beat Belgian Frédéric Caudron. Now he was the better of another world star, the current number one in the world Dick Jaspers, in the final 50-37 in 27 innings.
Daniel Morales (pictured right above) is the new three cushion champion in Colombia after the title race played in Cali. The former Pan American champion in 2016 played a flawless tournament, in which he defeated Andrés Lizarazo (pictured left above) in the final 40-32 in 20 innings (2.000/1.600).
The 34-year-old Sameh Sidhom (pictured on the right above) has become Egypt's three-cushion champion for the 13th time in total and the 12th time in a row.
Dani Sánchez (2nd from right above) has captured the Spanish three cushion title for the 20th time in his career. He achieved this milestone in a superior final match against Ricardo Garcia. Sánchez won 40-14 in 13 innings and again left no doubt about his being the best Spanish billiard player ever.
