Dick Jaspers Wins 2015 Lausanne Billiard Masters

With discipline, creativity and precision, Dick Jaspers of the Netherlands prevailed in a field of 10 at the 2015 Lausanne Billiard Masters. In the final match against Martin Horn of Germany it was Jaspers 40-24 in 18 innings to cap off a performance that yielded the best overall average for the event at 2.120 and the crown.

The venue was elegant, the atmosphere electric and the play was inspiring. Marco Zanetti was seeking his third straight title. Tayfun Tasdemir was making his first appearance. And the world's greatest were once again pitted in battle in the warmup tournament before the upcoming world champoionship,

Zanetti's third chance to take the Billiard Masters title slipped away in the prelims, as he fell twice. With no player undefeated in the two 5-man round robin preliminary flights the finalists were determined in the last match of each group. With many games of 2.000 average and multiple high runs over 10 the group winners who moved on to the finals were Current World Champion Sung-won Choi, world number one ranked Torbjorn Blomdahl, last year's runner-up (returning again) Martin Horn, and multiple World Cup winner and former World Champion Dick Jaspers.

In the end it was Dick Jaspers of the Netherlands who consistently averaged over two who bested Martin Horn of Germany. Horn took the number two spot for the second time in as many years.
