Professor-Q-Ball Spring 2016 Event in Rushville
FRED LAMERS WINS 2016 SPRING RUSHVILLE TOURNAMENT
ANTICIPATED TOURNAMENT FORMAT (Based on a full field of 28 Players):
Four round-robin brackets of 7 players each. Two players advance from each bracket plus two 3rd place players will advance to 10-player round-robin finals.
20-point Preliminaries and 25-point Finals.
Player Meeting: 8:00 p.m. Thursday March 3rd, 2016
Preliminaries Begin: 9:00 a.m. Friday March 4th, 2016
Any aspect of the above is subject to change at the discretion of the tournament leadership.
The first 28 PAID ENTRANTS will have a spot in the tournament.
1) The Professor Q-Ball Rushville Spring 2016 Tournament will be a USBA National Championship Qualifier as follows:
One player in this event will qualify to play in the USBA Nationals. This means that the Qualifying Player in addition to receiving the Tournament Prize money award based on their respective finish will also have a spot reserved in the USBA Nationals (i.e. the $300.00 USBA Nationals entry fee will be paid on their behalf plus they will receive $200.00 expense money from the USBA).
Former USBA National Champions MAY play in this event. However, because they are already qualified to play in the USBA Championship event they ARE NOT eligible to receive the $300.00 entry fee or the $200.00 expense money. These players ARE eligible to receive the tournament prize money based on their respective finish.
NOTE: Should a former USBA National Champion win 1st place then the 2nd place finisher shall have the option to enter the USBA National Championship. If the 2nd place finisher elects not to attend the USBA Nationals this option shall ratchet down to a maximum of the top 4 Non-National Champions only.
A QUALIFYING PLAYER MUST BE PREPARED TO COMMIT TO ATTEND THE USBA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PRIOR TO THE AWARDING OF THE PRIZES AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE RUSHVILLE TOURNAMENT OR THE OPTION WILL BE OFFERED TO THE NEXT PLAYER IN LINE.
If neither of those 4 elects to attend the USBA Nationals then the money allotted to the USBA entry and expense money shall become part of the tournament prize fund and allocated accordingly.
2) Because this is a USBA National Qualifier there will be NO SEEDING of players.
3) I just found out it is highly likely a sixth billiard table may be added at the Rushville venue. IF that transpires then a maximum of 40 players could be entered and the format would be Five
8-man brackets with two players from each bracket coming out into a 10-man Round Robin finals.
4) The first 28 PAID ENTRANTS will have a spot in the tournament. The next 12 Paid Entrants will be on the Primary Waiting List and will have a spot in the tournament IF the sixth table is added to the Rushville facility and available for tournament play.
Paid Entries in excess of 40 will be on the Alternate Waiting List. PAID ENTRIES will be logged in the order they are received here:
Players who have paid but are not able to attend will have their entry fee returned within two weeks after the event.
