The world's best and scores of hopefuls kicked-off the first world cup in the 2019 cycle. Meeting in Antalya, Turkey the event ran from February 10-17. Preliminary qualification rounds were followed by the main event culminating in the finals held in single elimination knock-out format.

This year the main event would start with a slightly different format. After the pre-rounds, the main draw of 32 players would consist of 14 top players from the ranking, numbers 1 and 2 from the qualifications, 1 wildcard from UMB; 2 wildcards from the organizing body, and numbers 3 to 15 of the qualifications (10 group winners and 3 best numbers 2).With these 32 players, eight groups of four would form, of whom the best two pass to the knock-outs with 16.

We track the leaders from each day to watch and see if any early round hopefuls can survive until the main event. One did!
